This premium Sencha is made from the renowned Yabukita cultivar, Japan’s most beloved tea cultivar, originally developed by tea pioneer Sugiyama Hikosaburo.

How It Is Made

Unlike many Chinese green teas that are pan-fired, Japanese Sencha is traditionally steamed shortly after harvest to preserve its bright green colour, fresh aroma, and signature ocean-kissed flavour.

This tea is processed using Asamushi, or “light steaming,” where the leaves are gently steamed for only 25–30 seconds.

This lighter steaming method helps preserve clarity, brightness, and leaf integrity, creating a cleaner, more delicate cup with vibrant grassy notes and a smooth finish.

After steaming, the leaves are carefully rolled and dried, locking in freshness while preserving the leaf's elegant structure.
