Hojicha (roast tea) is very popular in Japan; with low caffeine and a naturally sweet taste, this gentle tea is an ideal all-day tea for the whole family. 

Hojicha (ほうじちゃ) is a humble yet very attractive tea. This one is made with late-harvest, yabukita (a popular Japanese cultivar) tea leaves, carefully roasted at ~200° F. This process reduces significantly any astringency on the late harvest leaves, resulting in a naturally sweet, gentle brew with notes of wood and caramel.

The organic tea leaves are from the fields around Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. 
Since the late 1990s, local farms have partnered with Japanese tea producers to grow delicious, certified organic tea. 

The availability of fertild land, ideal climate and experienced tea pickers are an ideal combination to create delicious tea.
