Is it really matcha?
Well... no! Traditional green matcha is made from micro-milled green tea flakes, also known as tencha.
Blue matcha, on the other hand, is made from 100% micro-milled butterfly pea flowers! The result is an ultra-fine, whiskable, vibrant blue powder, hence the common name 'Blue Matcha'!
Generously scented with a bergamot oil that's truly special, sourced from Calabria, Italy and cold-pressed into liquid gold.
This deliciously aromatic, citrusy, sunny, and pleasant oil transforms our blue matcha into an unbelievably fragrant treat.
A visual and gustatory delight almost too beautiful to consume. Almost.

Origin & History
Embark on a sensory journey to Tanegashima, a jewel among the Osumi Islands in the southern Kagoshima Prefecture. Tanegashima's volcanic soil is nurtured by abundant rainfall, and the land is home to a breathtaking array of birds.
In the bygone eras of Meiji and Taisho, Japan crafted black tea of unparalleled quality for export to the Western world. Alas, the tides of a World War and the rise of the British Empire's Eastern colonies as the preferred origin for black tea dimmed Japan's export glow. Today, only a small fraction of Japanese tea is made in a 'black' style.
Kuritwase (Tanegashima's emblematic cultivar) is a rarity elsewhere in Japan. Celebrated for yielding exceptionally delicious tea, both green and black, it weaves a tale of tradition and taste.

About
Some beautiful things in life are simple. Rich and mellow, this organic tea is an ideal base for blends; it also brews a very enjoyable morning cup.
The rich, chunky leaves of this particular batch are full of flavour, and compared to other harvests, steamed for a shorter period of time and dried for longer. This results in a duller appearance, but a milder, less astringent taste.
Origin & History
This particular batch of China Black Keemun was farmed organically in the hills of Central Hunan Province, where the southern climate gives the leaves a very distinct character.
Keemun (Qimen in pinyin or 祁门 in Chinese characters) is a classic tea style from Huang Shan; the cultivar is ideal for a highly oxidized style of tea.
